United to End Gender Based Violence

Legislators are becoming aware of the dangers of Gender Based Violence such that they are coming up with initiatives in their respective constituencies to address issues concerning GBV. On Friday the 7th we were in Mmathubudukwane for the 3rd Walk of Activism Against GBV organised by Mr. Thuso Smart Boy Sename. The Kgatleng East Constituency in partnership with Ministry of Youth & Gender Invited Re A Bua Foundation CEO as a guest speaker and a guest walker. We were honored as our CEO had the privilege to address the community touching more on Culture….“we were wired culturally to tolerate Gender Based Violence”. The Member of Parliament Honorable Mabuse Pule emphasised on giving children education on Gender Based Violence issues so that they be come empowered with knowledge. Also in present was Kgosi Michael Balebetse of Mmathubudukwane Village who also expressed concern regarding Gender Based Violence in his respective village. Kgosi Molefhi of Mabalane Village also highlighted the importance of awareness. The event was also graced by the Station Commander of Mmathubudukwane Police Station Mr Mmoloki Mogale. The police also shared the statistics of Gender Based Violence cases.
